Program Unveiled to Help Get Bulletproof Vests to RPD Officers

It will bring financial aid to agencies that can't afford the life saving vests.
Attorney General Eric Cchneiderman today unveiled a new program he says will help get bulletproof vests to Rochester police.  It's called the "invest partnership" and officials say it will bring  financial aid to agencies unable to afford the life-saving vests.

Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli released the following statement, "With declining federal funding for vests, the assistance provided by the attorney general will be very helping in ensuring that all rochester police department officers are provided with bulletproof vests."

Attorney General Schneiderman added, "We have an obligation to do everything in our power to protect those who are sworn to protect us."
