According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Rush-Henrietta football star Ashton Broyld will not be part of the Syracuse University football season this Fall. Broyld confirmed to News 8 and Fox Rochester that he still plans to attend Syracuse next year (2012) and that he had no comment beyond that. It is believed that academics may be the main reason for Broyld missing this season and not his guilty plea last week in Rochester City Court to disorderly conduct charges stemming from an incident last March. Broyld was named the New York State high school Class AA player of the year after leading Rush-Henrietta to a State Championship.
