Report: SU assistant Mike Hopkins among coaches on Marquette’s list

With the Syracuse University men’s basketball season over, assistant coach Mike Hopkins’ name is once again being mentioned in connection to job openings in the college basketball world.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – With the Syracuse University men’s basketball season over, assistant coach Mike Hopkins’ name is once again being mentioned in connection to job openings in the college basketball world.

According to a report on ESPN.com, Hopkins is among the coaches being considered for the top spot at Marquette.

The cable sports news network says former Pitt and UCLA coach Ben Howland has already been contacted regarding the position vacated by Buzz Williams.

Williams left Marquette after six seasons in order to pursue a position at Virginia Tech.

According to ESPN.com, Hopkins is being mentioned alongside Wisconsin-Green Bay coach Brian Wardle – a former Marquette player and assistant – as well as Dayton head coach Archie Miller.
