Roberts Wesleyan to Officially Compete in NCAA DII Sports

Rochester, N.Y. (WROC) - Students celebrated Saturday night when Roberts Wesleyan was officially accepted into NCAA Division II Sports.

The college's athletic program has been a provisional member of Division II for the past two years, meaning they couldn't claim titles in championship games. That all changes this year. The school held an exhibition men's soccer game to mark the occasion.

"It's really cool to see everyone coming together, and supporting the soccer team, and hopefully coming together and supporting the other games, meets, and matches that we have throughout the year," said Roberts Wesleyan senior, Rachel Prutsman.

Roberts Wesleyan is the only Division II college in the region. The school's president says the athletes are excited to take their game to the next level.
