Rochester No Longer a Potential Site to House Immigrant Children

Mayor Warren was informed this by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Rochester, NY (WROC)-  Rochester is no longer being looked at as a site to house immigrant children according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Rochester City Mayor Lovely Warren said, "Although no official request or proposal was ever received from the federal government, I was overwhelmed at the support that our service-providers, faith leaders, and other concerned citizens were willing to offer these children in need."

The Mayor added, "We are fortunate to live in a community that cares so deeply about the welfare of children, both locally and beyond our borders."

Both Mayor Lovely Warren and City Council were open to the idea of housing immigrant children prior to this decision.
