RPO Announces 2014-2015 Season Lineup

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra announced on Sunday most of the lineup for its upcoming 92nd season.
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra announced on Sunday most of the lineup for its upcoming 92nd season.

Officials say the season will officially open September 18th with star violinist Midori and guest conductor, and Rochester native, Ward Stare. The season will conclude June 4 and 6 with performances of Orff's haunting Carmina Burana.

This season will feature 12 Philharmonics weekends instead of 14 and nine Pops weekends instead of 10, opening up three weekends for a set of "innovative and new concert offerings," which will be announced in late March.

"We've been tremendously gratified at the overwhelmingly positive response from our audiences this season, and so next season builds upon this year's programming philosophy that emphasizes compelling repertoire and first-rate visiting artists," says RPO President and CEO Charles Owens.
