Sabres Brass in Rochester for Amerks Game

LaFontaine says he's started interviewing candidates for GM
With the Buffalo Sabres off until Sunday, the team's front office checked out their AHL affiliate on Friday.

Sabres' President of Hockey Operations, Pat LaFontaine, and Interim Head Coach Ted Nolan have been in the middle of a whirlwind since being named to their positions last week by Sabres' owner Terry Pegula.

LaFontaine admitted that he started interviewing candidates for the team's vacant General Manager position, but would not say who he interviewed. For Nolan, visiting the Amerks harked back to his days in the minors. Nolan spent seven seasons in the AHL, including the 1984-85 season with the Rochester Americans.

Both reiterated throughout their press conference during the 1st period intermission how important the Sabres-Amerks relationship will have to be as they try to turn the downtrodden Sabres around.
