Spencerport's first food truck rodeo will feature 11 local trucks: Tuscan Wood-fired Pizza, Le Petit Poutine, the Brunch Box, Effortlessly Healthy, Meatball Truck Co, Cheesed and Confused, Wraps on Wheels, the Bento Box, Kona Ice of Genesee Valley, Roc City Sammich, and Abbotts Frozen Custard. The rodeo will also have live music and family-friendly activities including a bounce house, carnival games, a dunk tank, raffles, and a photobooth. The trucks will donate a percentage of sales to the Spencerport Sports Boosters Club.
"What the budget doesn't cover, it allows us to do camps, it allows us to purchase additional equipment, new uniforms for the kids, it allows us to have the teams that we have right now for the kids to participate in," said Scott Nitti of the Sports Boosters Club.
The event runs from 4 - 9 p.m. at Spencerport High School. It's free to the public and open to all ages.
In a related note, the City of Rochester is holding a public forum Wednesday to discuss the future of food trucks downtown at 5 pm at Rochester City Hall. The city council needs to make a decision by January 21st.
