Sutherland Cruise By Batavia to Stay Unbeaten

Axelrod, Judd, and Greendyke all in double-figuresas Knights go 13-0
Sutherland keeps on rolling through their regular season schedule, topping Batavia at home 64-40 on Thursday night. The Knights are now 13-0 this season.

Both teams started off playing pretty equal basketball, but Sutherland pulled away from a 25-22 game in the 2nd quarter with an 8-0 run to end the half. The Knights were the better team in the second half by a significant margin and the final scoreline showed that.

Liz Greendyke led Sutherland with 17 points. Not far behind her were Bayley Axelrod with 15 points and Abby Judd with 14. Axelrod also hit three 3-pointers during the game for the unbeaten Knights.

Madison McCulley had 12 points to lead Batavia. The Blue Devils fall to 10-3 with the loss.

During halftime of the game, Sutherland's Mary Bayer hit a backwards half-court shot. The freshman currently plays on the JV team.
