The Town of Gates is not Giving up on a Potential Casino

Gates Town Supervisor believes it could be good for taxpayers.
Despite pressure,  the town of Gates isn't folding on the idea of a casino.  Last night, the "No More Casinos" coalition went to the Gates town board meeting.  They asked supervisor Mark Assini to withdraw an invitation to the Seneca Nation.  Assini believes the Rochester Tech Park in Gates would make a great spot for a casino.  Assini says a casino would create jobs and save taxpayers money.

Assini stated, ""If it were to happen, and it's a long shot to happen, but if it were to happen the town taxpayers would no longer have to pay town taxes and there would be a 1,000 jobs plus."

Assini made the comments after the Henrietta town board unanimously voted for a resolution to oppose a casino there.
