More than 1,500 people joined the fight against multiple sclerosis Sunday at the Genesee Valley Park.

It was the National MS Society's Annual "Walk MS." The walker's goal was to raise $200,000 for MS research. Organizers say they reach that goal almost every year. Ever since Shelly Colway was diagnosed with MS in 2001 her family has done everything they can to help the cause.

"It's an amazing thing to have our friends and family get behind us and support us," Conway said. "They are there for us on the good days and the bad days."

"This year we are over $4,000 and it's going to a great cause," Mike Conway said. "They make the event so much fun so everybody keeps coming back."

"Shelly's Stampede" was just one of the many teams taking part in MS walks at 19 sites across upstate New York this month. The ultimate goal is to raise $1.4 million for the cause.
