Victor No Problems In State Quarters

Girls, Boys Lacrosse each beat teams from Hamburg
Victor got past Hamburg in the state quarterfinals on Saturday.

And then, they did it again.

The Blue Devil girls romped to a 16-5 win in the Class B state quarter at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School. Alyssa Fries had four goals, Hannah Savage scored three (with two assists) and Glyn Devereux, Megan Maloney and Bridget Flynn chipped in two goals apiece.

An hour after the girls game ended, the boys game began at All-High School in Buffalo.

Max Lambert broke a 6-6 tie late in the first half with a rebound goal and Kyle Collins scored 12 seconds later to put the Blue Devils ahead 8-6 at the break. Both defenses stiffened in the second half, but Victor never gave up the lead and Dan Barrow iced a 10-8 win by scoring with just under four minutes to play.

The girls move on to a state semifinal matchup with Christian Brothers Academy from Syracuse's Section Three on Friday. The game will be played at SUNY Cortland with faceoff at 9:30am.

The boys team will face Jamesville-Dewitt from Syracuse in the state semis. That game will be played Wednesday at Cicero-North Syracuse high school at 5:30pm.
