Victor Track and Field Teams Host Huntington's Disease Awareness Walk/Run

Hundreds turned out to help a friend in Victor today.
Hundreds of people turned out in Victor to help a friend this afternoon.  The Victor boys and girls track teams hosted the Huntington's disease awareness run and walk.  It's to support retired Rochester police officer Bill Lawler and his family.  Bill is a long time runner and has Huntington's.  His kids have been on the track team for years.

Ross Hunkovic, the Varsity track coach said, ""It's nice being the largest sports team on campus because when you look at the power in numbers. We have the ability to not only raise awareness but raise over 2,000 like we did last year, and it's all for a good cause."

Bill Lawler added, "They're all out here. I'm touched. I'm like George Bailey in "It's A Wonderful Life." I'm very very lucky."

Using Bill as an inspiration, Victor athletes and coaches have taken it upon themselves to raise awareness about Huntington's disease and promote healthy lifestyles.
