The 2014 Wegmans LPGA Championship is donating $1 million to the United Way's Children's Success Fund.
The 2014 Wegmans LPGA Championship is donating $1 million to the United Way's Children's Success Fund. Wegmans Vice President Bill Strassburg gave the check to the non-profit on Sunday. The donation is more than double the amount donated to the charity for previous tournaments.

“We are so proud to have been part of this world-class event,” says Colleen Wegman, president. “We thank our people who worked so hard to make this possible, along with our partner suppliers, the volunteers, and our entire community. They came together to make this a memorable and meaningful event for the youth in Rochester.”

The United Way donation will go toward the Graduation is the Goal program which supports Hillside Work Scholarship Connection and other programs that serve children who are at risk of dropping out of school.

During its years in Rochester, the LPGA tournament raised more than $11 million for programs in the Rochester area that help children succeed.
