World War II Veterans Gather for Picnic

The men are veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.
A group of local World War II veterans gathered today for a picnic at Buckland park in Brighton.  They're veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. Two just returned from the 70th anniversary D-day ceremonies in France.

The group first started meeting in 1998 when they had 100 members.  Now, there are about 30.  John Foy, a Battle of the Bulge veteran, said, "The average age of our group is probably about 92.  I'm the baby of the group and I'm probably in my 90th year.

The Battle of the Bulge vets try to get together a few times a year, over the summer, and on the Memorial and Veterans day holidays.
