The Fairport Music and Food Festival will be held Saturday on Liftbridge Lane in the Village of Fairport.

It's the ninth year of the festival.  All the proceeds benefit the Golisano Children's Hospital.

Bill Houston, the Festival's Director of Visual Media, and Michael Fahy, Associate Director of Community Affairs at Golisano Children's Hospital, discussed the event Friday on News 8 at Noon.

Houston said 21 bands will perform live music on three stages.  There will also be a "Taste of Fairport" featuring local restaurants and children's activities.  "It's going to be a spectacular day, the weather is going to be great, everybody should come on out," said Houston.

Over the years, $500,000 have been raised for Golisano Children's Hospital.  "It has put a new playroom on the outpatient clinic, they've committed to a number of things in the new building including an inpatient private room, so they're enhancing privacy, they're enhancing comfort for the families and the kids that have to be up there," said Fahy.

Tickets are $10 in advance by ordering online or at participating Fairport merchants, and $15 at the gate Saturday.  Admission for kids 12 and under is free.
