The hit play 'Family Secrets' will begin a month long run at the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre's Winton Road location on Thursday, August 22.

The star of the one woman show, Carolyn Michel, discussed her role in the long running off-Broadway production Tuesday on News 8 at Noon.

Michel plays five different family members over the course of the 80-90 minute show, making all of the tranformations on stage.  "It's truly a theatrical moment because it's not something that audiences are usually privy to," she said.

Michel said Grandma Rose is her favorite of the five characters because she ties it all together.  "This play reveals the wonderful secrets, and the wonderful foibles and the great humanity of family," she said.  And there are plenty of laughs along the way as well.

Michel's husband, Howard Millman is directing the play.  Millman is the former Artistic Director at Geva Theatre.

Performances are Thursday through Sunday, August 22 through September 28.
