FedEx, UPS Dealing With Delivery Delays

Record online sales this holiday season and some rough winter weather were too much for some delivery companies.

UPS is blaming those holiday shipping delays on poor weather and an overloaded system. Both UPS and FedEx are getting complaints that many gifts did not arrive in time for Christmas. FedEx says their service did not experience any disruptions this week. They describe any late packages as "isolated incidents." The shipping giants expect to get any late packages delivered before the weekend, but for some families Christmas was just not the same this year.

"I was really excited to see her face and it didn't happen so I was disappointed," Vickie Madsen said.

Online retailers who use the shipping giants are not happy either. Amazon.com, one of UPS' biggest customers, says it will refund shipping charges and give customers a $20 credit to make up for the trouble.
