Finger Lakes "Cork & Fork Festival" All About Local Products

The 4th annual Finger Lakes Cork & Fork Festival is taking place Friday and Saturday in Seneca Falls.
Jon Stadt worked in construction for 30 years.
But food has always been his passion.
"I started making pasta at home and giving it to all the neighbors and everything, and then it just kind of developed and rolled from there into a bigger thing and here we are," says Stadt.
Now he owns Flour City Pasta, located in the village of Pittsford
And this weekend he's going to be taking his talents, and pastas to the region's largest food and beverage event
"Well at Cork & Fork, Friday night we're going to be entering a dish to be judged," says Stadt. "Our ginger lemon grass, local broccoli, local shiitake mushroom dish with the F. Oliver's oil on it."
And on Saturday, he'll be among dozens of vendors from 14 counties in the Finger Lakes region showcasing everything from pasta, to olive oils, and of course, wine!
"The Finger Lakes themselves are so diverse and so bountiful for the wineries that we have some of the finest rieslings in the world and then when you add that to the fertile soil that we have here in this region that we can produce some of the products that we can grow and make and grow here on a daily basis."
Now in it's 4th year, cork and fork is always expanding.
This year, they're adding local microbrews to the exhibitors.
And the proceeds from the 2 day event go to help fight hunger.
"We are really encouraging people to come on out and support a great cause and get filled in the process with wine, food and the knowledge of what agriculture means to the finger lakes."
