Anxiety may lead to higher risk of stroke. A new study in the Journal of the American Heart Association looked at patients with anxiety disorders. The symptoms include feeling worried, stressed, nervous or tense. People with the most symptoms had a 33 percent chance of higher risk for stroke.

Doctors implant hundreds of thousands of hip replacements each year, but a new study suggests the regulation process for his replacements needs improvements. Researchers in the UK found that nearly eight percent of the devices were implanted without adequate evidence that they will wokr properly. The study can be found in the British Medical Journal. It says the high failure rate of hip replacements should create a better system for regulating new orthopedic devices. 

Eating more fiber may lower the risk of heart disease. British researchers collected studies from around the world examining the benefits of a high fiber diet. They found that even one extra portion a day of whole grains, plus fruits and vegetables can lower the risk of heart disease.
