Doctors say you can get hypothermia in just 10 minutes if you are not wearing the proper clothing. 

"It's pretty cold; came on pretty quickly too, the unrelenting snow; kind of a pain in the butt for everyone," Joe Gallemore said.

The bitter cold just will not let up. For folks like Joe Gallemore it is all about layering up. 

"Lots of coating and going in for a couple minutes at a time. Warm up the fingers," Gallemore said.

While a lot of people spent their day digging out of the snow. Others took a break to enjoy some good old fashioned sled riding and ignored the cold.

"I think it's great. It's about time we got this. It's wonderful," Jim Carter said.

"It's nice. You get to play in the snow and stuff, but it's really cold," Brian Carter said.

Whether you are having fun or simply shoveling, it is important to remember that the weather is dangerously cold. On days like this one, frost bite and hypothermia can become an issue.

"Just pain and numbness. Those are the first signs. When you experience some pain and numbness, that's an indication. Your body is telling you get warm, get inside and take care of the areas that are exposed," Dr. Michael Kamali said. 

The best way to warm up-

"Just go inside. Have some hot chocolate, have some coffee; something of that sort. Just stay indoors. Putting your hands or feet under hot water is not a really good solution because you can actually burn your fingers and hands and cause more harm," Kamali said.

No matter, what, do not forget to bundle up.
