Job Fair For The Disabled

The Rochester Rehabilitation Employment Connection hosted a job fair Thursday.
The Rochester Rehabilitation Employment Connection hosted a job fair Thursday.

This one was for people with disabilities and disadvantages, including veterans. Nationally the unemployment rate for people with disabilities is twice the rate of non-disabled people. Rochester Rehabilitation helps their members make the transition back into the workforce.

"I originally had a little fear of getting back into the job market. I have not been in the job market since 2007 and needless to say within that gap there's a lot of technology that has moved forward and I have not in that period. So, this has been a very good transition from where I was to where I am now," Larry Geldner said.

More than 20 employers were on site to interview and network with job-seekers.
