Late Goal Sends Fairport to State Semi's

Red Raiders win first regional title since 1998
With 40 seconds remaining in regulation, Fairport's Anthony Gaglianese had the fortune and presence of mind to be in the perfect spot to put home a rebound sending Fairport to the state semifinals for the first time since 1998. The junior midfielder's goal was the difference in a 1-0 over Clarence of Section VI in the Class AA Western, NY Regional Final.

Fairport's defense and their man in-between the sticks once again proved why they deserve to continue playing. The Red Raiders have now shut out 10 of their last 11 opponents.

Fairport has never played in the state championship game. They'll do just that if they can get by Guilderland of Section II at 8:45 AM in Middletown on Saturday, November 16th.
