Man Charged in Scio Street Stabbing

Two stabbing incidents occurred early Saturday in the Scio Street and Lewis Street area.
Police are investigating an stabbing incident that took place Saturday morning.

Police responded to the incident around 5:25 a.m in Scio Street and Lewis Street area after being waved down by a 25 year-old male city resident with multiple stab wounds to his lower torso.

He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers later received an additional call reporting another stabbing victim, whom was involved in the incident, was taken to Rochester General Hospital by private vehicle.

The second victim, 41, suffered a facial laceration after being cut with a sharp object.

Police believe a fight broke out between the two men at a social gathering in the Lewis Street area when the 25-year-old initially cut the 41-year-old male in the face.

The 25-year-old male was then stabbed by an unidentified person whom was also involved in the fight.

The 25-year-old man will be charged with assault.
