Move Over Groupon: Local Guys Start "Free" Deals Website

You don't have to pay for these coupons. That's probably why the website isn't making any money.
Tired of all of those emails from Groupon, Deal Chicken, Living Social and Daily Perks? Have you ever shelled out money for a coupon you didn't use?

Enter Favular.

Three local men launched the website last week. Users do not have to sign up. They do not have to buy coupons. But the offers are similar to what you find on the major daily deals websites. A shop offers a free slice of pizza with no purchase necessary. A restaurant offers a free fish fry dinner, again with no purchase necessary. Other deals are buy-one-get-one or a percentage off your bill. Users have to print the coupons.

What's the catch?

The website founders are not making any money.

"We're the good guys," said Dean Eaton.

But they hope to expand Favular to other cities and eventually charge businesses a small user fee.
