The police chief of Mount Pleasant, New York was arrested Thursday on charges of possession of child pornography. Police say Brian Fanelli used a sharing program to download more than 100 images of child porn. Fanelli was released on $50,000 bond Thursday night. A judge ordered him to home confinement with electronic monitoring. 

A New York man has been accused or murder and racketeering among other charges. Vincent Asaro is the first of five alleged members of the Bonanno crime family to face charges in the 1978 Lufthansa heist at JFK Airport. That crime netted more than $5 million in cash and $1 million in jewels, a record at the time. Other crimes included the indictment include a murder in 1969 and a racketeering operations that used threats of violence to extort money from victims.
