Olympia Rallies To Beat Arcadia

Rivera, trick plays highlight battle of Greece
Andre Rivera did what no one else could after halftime at Arcadia Saturday--find the end zone.

He did it three times.

The touchdowns were enough to rally Olympia from a 17-6 halftime deficit and give the Spartans a 24-17 win over the Titans on Arcadia's homecoming.

Rivera finished with 170 yards rushing and two touchdowns, including one from 88 yards away. He also ran an interception back 55 yards for a TD.

The first quarter looked like a group of kids who picked sides in the sandlot.

Austin Wilkerson took the snap for Olympia at the Arcadia 29 and flipped a pass out to Brian Collister on the left side. Except the pass was backwards, and Collister didn't keep the ball long. He threw a second pass to a wide open Avery Butler for an easy touchdown and a 6-0 Olympia lead.

Arcadia quickly showed they could do it too.

At the Olympia 20, Noah Barnard quickly threw an overhand lateral left to Jay Green. Green had to run right a bit to create space, but quickly got off a pass that landed in the arms of Devon Smith in the back of the end zone.

Arcadia scored the game's next ten points, but was shutout after the half and fell to 0-4. Olympia is now 2-2.
