A police chase that started in Macedon ended in a crash in the city Friday afternoon.

Macedon Police were chasing someone they said shoplifted from the Walmart and nearby liquor store there.

The suspect's car crashed into another car near East High School on Main Street.

Three people in the suspect's car were hurt. The driver of the other car was also injured.

Rochester Police will only chase violent felony suspects.

"At the point we got stuck behind the tractor trailer, we were in the process of calling the vehicle pursuit off, but based on the fact that the initial pursuit began because he attempted to strike a police officer, we will pursue that vehicle," said Chief John Colella, Town of Macedon.

"The past couple days with black Friday. It's just so ridiculous the length that people are going to steal things," said Colella.

All of the victims were taken to Strong. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Colella says the suspect could face serious charges in Monroe and Wayne Counties.
