Power line in Webster Causes Fire and Outages

A power line in Webster fell causing a fire and outages.
Firefighters were on the scene of a brush fire that was started by a downed power line Sunday afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of Hard Road and Ridge Road in Webster.

A pole was struck by lightening and fell into a pile of mulch.

According to police, a downed wire sparked and created a small fire.

RG&E crews were also called to the scene to shut off power.

Afterwards, crews were directed to the KMART in a nearby plaza who suffered a power outage.

Officials say the power line caused a power board to malfunction.

The store was temporarily closed.
