President Obama's White House Chief of Staff is quitting.
 (Washington, DC)  --  President Obama's White House Chief of Staff is quitting.
  
The White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley has resigned. Obama says Daley was an outstanding chief of staff during one of the busiest years of his administration. Daley has been chief of staff for about one year. Obama said Daley has been anxious to return home to Chicago for some time.
  
Obama also announced the appointment of Jack Lew as the new chief of staff. Lew is White House budget chief. .
