Rochester Irish Festival this weekend

The 19th annual Rochester Irish Festival is set for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Camp Eastman in Irondequoit.
The 19th annual Rochester Irish Festival is set for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Camp Eastman in Irondequoit.

Hours on Friday are from 4 - 11 p.m.  Saturday hours are noon - 11 p.m. and Sunday hours are noon - 6 p.m.

A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Sunday, followed by a traditional Irish breakfast.

Admission is $10, while kids under 8 are free.

Bryan Kindlon of the Festival Organizing Committee discussed what folks can expect when the attend this year.  It will feature live music, including the local and national Irish bands like Wingin' It and Friends, The Dady Brothers, Dave North, 1916 and Barry's Crossing, as well as performances from local Irish dance schools.

The Celtic College will also feature cultural presentations, cooking and geneology information.  The first annual Irish trivia contest will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m.  "It's a family friendly event," said Kindlon.

Parking is free and all activities will take place rain or shine under the big tent.
