Rowley St. body identified as Matthew Straton

A body found behind a home on Rowley St. Wednesday has been positively identified as that of missing man Matthew Straton.
The 62-year-old doctor whose home is the center of a police investigation is under arrest tonight.

William Lewek is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Both are felonies.

Tonight police also confirmed the body found in Lewek's backyard is that of 31-year-old Matthew Straton, who disappeared October 28.

The Straton family has visited the police scene throughout the day and into Thursday evening.

A handful of people held vigil in front of the home Thursday night.

Closure came later at the news the body had been identified as that of Matthew Straton -and Dr. William Lewek was under arrest.

Police were led to Lewek's home on Rowley Street Wednesday night based on a tip.

They quickly confirmed there was a body on the property.

Early Thursday morning, they began to dig in the back yard.

At the same time, Matthew Straton's family gathered at the scene after being notified by police.

Lewek is a psychiatrist who practiced out of his Rowley Street home for the past 15 years.

He also volunteers for the University of Rochester Medical Center, but he does not report to the hospital.

Lewek specializes in addiction counseling. His arraignment is set for 9:30 Friday morning.
