Short Rest Doesn't Hurt Wilson

Wildcats beat McQuaid four days after losing to Schroeder
Akinlawon Robinson made six catches for 132 yards, including a pair of dazzling diving grabs as Wilson held off McQuaid 32-24 at Sahlen's Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The game was played just four days after Wilson fell at Webster Schroeder 49-8. It was the first Tuesday game in Section Five history and necessitated by a scheduling snafu.

Robinson laid out at the five yard line with less than minute to go in the first half to make a 30-yard catch. Two plays later, Jaquan McCullough hit Robinson on a slant for a five-yard TD and a 26-7 halftime lead.

After Bobby Molinari opened the second half scoring with a two yard TD run for McQuaid, Robinson struck again. He dove to catch a 33-yarder and put Wilson in Knights' territory.

The drive ended when McCullough hit Robinson to convert a 4th and 5 from the 15. Robinson spun and lunged for the end zone and his second score of the day.

McQuaid scored 10 more points, but could not tie.

McCullough finished with 184 yard passing. Tahje Walker led the Wildcats with 142 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Wilson is now 3-1. McQuaid falls to 1-3.
