The mayor's uncle and security guard has been suspended for speeding to and from the State of the State address.
Reggie Hill's, the mayor's uncle and bodyguard, has been suspended for one week without pay for speeding on the New York State Thruway.

In a letter sent to Deputy Mayor Len Redon, the Director of Executive Services acknowledged getting stopped twice by state police while transporting Mayor Lovely Warren to and from the State of the State Address in Albany. The Albany Times Union reported Hill was going 97 m.ph. During a news conference Monday, Warren said Hill was going between 77 and 80 m.p.h and she did not mention two stops for speeding. On Wednesday, Warren wouldn't say if there was a second stop.

Hill did not get a ticket during either stop.

In the letter Hill said he showed a "lack of judgment." He said, "I take full responsibility for this occurrence and regret any embarrassment that it has caused to Mayor Warren."

Hill reports to the deputy mayor. he will also pay a $50 fine for going right on red without coming to a complete stop.

The Board of Ethics will investigate the hiring of Hill and the Associate Director of Executive Services, Caesar Carbonnell. It will look at whether the city's nepotism and civil service rules were violated.
