Severe storms are tearing through the Midwest.
In Peoria, Illinois homes were turned to rubble and debris scattered the streets of the city.
In Washington, Illinois, west of Chicago the storm has taken out cell phone towers across the area, making it difficult for people to get in touch with their loved ones.
Some important things to remember, seek shelter if possible.
Don't touch anything near a downed power line and report all problems to RG&E.
If anything falls on your vehicle, stay in your car.
Try not to touch any of the metal frames on your car.
