A huge relief effort is underway in the Philippines after a deadly typhoon barreled through the country Friday.

The official death toll is at 942, but authorities fear it could rise as high as 10,000. Typhoon Haiyan destroyed everything in its path, leaving families to find shelter wherever they can. Survivors across the Philippines are growing desperate, even painting signs for rescue helicopters.

"We want water and medicine for the injured. We don't need pity, we just need your help," one woman said.

U.S. Marines are being sent over with badly-needed supplies for the millions of disaster victims.
