Fitness expert Jodi Stern of Pilates Plus offered some tips for transitioning your workout indoors as the chilly temps arrive Tuesday morning on News 8 at Sunrise.

Stern said there are physical and mental hurdles when making the transition.  On the physical side, she recommends changing up the workout.  If you're doing distance running or biking outside, consider strength training indoors.  Stern said it can be mentally harder to workout in the absence of nature, but said extra rest and perhaps a massage can help improve your perspective.

She added it can be helpful to establish a set time for your workouts and make it part of a productive routine.
