One Killed, One Injured In Lyell Ave. Shooting

Another person was killed in the second double shooting this week.
Police were called to another double shooting that left one person dead.

It happened on Lyell Avenue near Saratoga Avenue just after 5 p.m. Thursday. Police say the two male victims were standing in front of a store when someone on a bicycle opened fire. Raheem Williams, 22, was taken to Strong Hospital where he later died. David Campbell, 37, was also taken to Strong. He is expected to survive.

Police believe Williams was the intended target. At this time, police do not believe the shooting is related to Wednesday's shooting on Pullman Avenue, but they say the recent streak of violence has been tough.

"It's very frustrating from a policing perspective and I'm sure it's very frustrating for the community to see this type of activity happen on as regular a basis as it's been. As you look at these incidents there's no obvious relationship between these things; geographically they're in different areas so there really is no rhyme or reason to it," Commander Tim List said.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
