The Wayne County Council for the Arts is getting ready for its annual Member Art Show July 18 - August 9 at its studio Newark.

Organization President Mary Christopher discussed the event Tuesday on News 8 at Noon.

The show is open to everyone and admission is free.  An Opening Reception will be held Saturday from 4-6, featuring a musical performance by the Fiddlers of the Genesee.  Over 100 works will be on display, with a range of experience and media, both two and three dimensional.

Christopher said the mission of the Wayne County Council for the Arts is to bring art to everyone, regardless of skill level or experience.  Classes are taught to develop or enhance skills.

The non-profit organization has existed for 37 years.  Events like the Member Art Show help fund its initiatives.
