Wearing Collard Greens to Send Message

Theresa Bowick is a nurse who wants to start conversations about healthy eating.
Theresa Bowick recently turned heads at the Rochester Public Market. She was wearing a dress made out of collard greens!

Bowick is a nurse who wants to spread a message about healthy eating and living. She said collard greens are a popular and nutritious food in the African American community. She wanted people to stop her so she could talk about low-fat ways to prepare the greens.

Bowick wrote about her weight-loss and exercise journey in a book published earlier this year called "Collard Green Curves."

Bowick's special dress wilted after a few days, even though she stored it in her refrigerator. She appeared on News 8 First at 4 wearing what we're calling a "collard green scarf."
