Epiphergy founder and CEO Graham Fennie discussed his company and its role in Rochester during our Why ROC segment Wednesday morning on News 8 at Sunrise.

Epiphergy upcycles food waste and turns it into three high value products: advanced biofuels, animal feed and organic compost.

Fennie founded the company in his barn five years ago.  Epiphergy's sustainable processes maximize the value of organic waste that would otherwise be targeted for area landfills.

Rochester is the perfect base for Epiphergy according to Fennie because of the farming and other idustries located in the Finger Lakes region.

The company employs four full time workers and is poised for expansion at multiple local sites.  Fennie also envisions tapping into fertile markets like Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C. in the coming years.
