Wings Win Again, Within Five Games Of Playoffs

Rochester scores four unanswered to beat Mud Hens 4-3
Michael Hollimon had two hits, including a go-ahead single in the sixth to lead the Red Wings to a 4-3 comeback win over the Toledo Mud Hens Saturday night at Frontier Field. The series concludes with a 6:35 p.m. contest Sunday night, with fireworks after the game.

Nick Blackburn made his second start for Rochester since being optioned from Minnesota. He faced left-hander Casey Crosby who came into the game with a 6-2 record.

Toledo was able to push across the first run in the top of the third when Justin Henry scored Andy Ciriaco on a sacrifice fly. The Mud Hens put up two more runs in the top of the fifth after the Wings made two straight errors.

The Red Wings finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Chris Parmelee's ground out brought Rene Rivera home. Danny Valencia followed up with a single that drove in Matt Carson from second, making the score 3-2 in favor of the Mud Hens.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka tied the game up in bottom of sixth when he doubled to left field, scoring Sean Burroughs from first. Nishioka scored himself when Michael Hollimon laced an RBI single into right, making the score 4-3 Rochester.

Blackburn threw 82 pitches, 59 for strikes. He gave up five hits and a walk, and only of the three runs he was charged with was earned.

Caleb Thielbar worked the eighth inning, and Lester Oliveros pitched the ninth for Rochester.
